After an outstanding performance at David’s 105 in September, Grammy-nominated Georgia bluesman Jontavious Willis returns on Halloween night, and this time he’s bringing the Blues Crusaders!
One of the most compelling current voices in traditional blues, Jontavious draws from Piedmont, Delta, Texas, and gospel blues traditions. His remarkable guitar playing, soulful vocals, and natural storytelling reflect a deep understanding of the music’s history while bringing something distinctly his own to every performance. His 2019 album Spectacular Class earned a Grammy nomination for Best Traditional Blues Album.
For this show, he’s joined by fellow blues guitarist and vocalist Stephen Hull, a rising talent known for his soulful playing and traditional blues sound; JD Dukes on drums, an experienced musician with roots in blues, jazz, and gospel; and Rodrigo Mantovani on bass, an accomplished musician who has performed with the award-winning Nick Moss Band.
We’ll also welcome special guest Eddie Hinton, a local area blues musician, friend of and familiar face at David’s 105 who will join for a few songs.
These musicians share a genuine love for the blues, and we’re looking forward to hearing what happens when they come together on our stage.
General admission seating is first-come, first-served. All ages welcome. Free parking throughout Downtown Monroe.
