We’re bringing Jontavious Willis to David’s 105 Listening Room on Friday, September 11 at 8 PM for a night of Blues rooted in tradition and shaped by his own Georgia heritage.

A Grammy-nominated musician and songwriter, Jontavious describes his mission as reinvigorating today’s Blues with the spirit of the past. His original music draws from Delta, Piedmont, Texas, and Gospel Blues, combining a deep reverence for traditional Blues with a sound that is distinctly his own.

Born and raised in rural Georgia, Jontavious spent much of his childhood singing Gospel music at Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church with his grandfather. His passion for the Blues was sparked at age 14 when he came across a YouTube video of Muddy Waters playing “Hoochie Coochie Man.” In 2015, Taj Mahal invited him to perform onstage, and Jontavious later opened for Taj Mahal and Keb’ Mo’ on their 2018 TajMo tour.

His music reflects the range and vitality of the Blues with original songs that move through tradition while keeping the music alive and relevant for today.

This is the kind of artist our listening room was built to hear up close. Join us for Jontavious Willis live at David’s 105 Listening Room, Friday, September 11 at 8 PM.
