Pierce Pettis: Live at David's 105

  • David's 105 Listening Room 105 East Washington Street Monroe, GA, 30655 United States (map)

Some writers spend a career chasing a great song. Pierce Pettis has been writing them for decades, and the proof is in who's been singing them: Joan Baez put one on a record back in 1979, and Garth Brooks, Art Garfunkel, Dar Williams, and Dion have all reached for his work since. On July 17 we're welcoming him to David's 105 for a seated evening of folk, Americana, and finely written songs built around the thing he does best, turning the ordinary details of a life into songs that stay with you. Expect rich vocals, strong guitar work, and lyrics that reward close attention.

Pettis got his start at the legendary Muscle Shoals Sound Studios and went on to record a long run of albums for Compass Records, most recently Father's Son. His influences run from Bob Dylan to Joni Mitchell to Paul Simon, but the voice is his own.
