The Bones of St. Michael Friday, November 14th 8:00 PM
A band of veteran musicians, The Bones of St. Michael brings a rich blend of Gypsy Jazz and Hot Swing straight to Georgia. Sharing members with the Hobohemians, Humdingers, and more, this ensemble is steeped in tradition and bursting with energy.
🎻 Inspired by the legendary Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli, founder Ivan Strunin left classical music behind after discovering the fire of Jazz Manouche. Arriving in Athens, he gathered four of the area’s finest players, each deeply rooted in this style, and together they formed The Bones of St. Michael.
✨ Their music carries the spirit of the Hot Club of France—a sound born in 1920s Paris, where Gypsy caravans and hot swing collided to create something timeless.
🎵 Expect dazzling fiddle runs, fiery guitar lines, and irresistible swing. On any given night, you might also catch a dash of Dawg music, or even nods to Parker and Monk.
🔥 No bones about it—the swing is hot, the music is alive, and the night belongs to The Bones of St. Michael.
