Blues is at the foundation of Ben Flournoy’s music, but it doesn’t stay there for long. The Florida guitarist and singer-songwriter brings together modern blues, pop-rock, soul, and singer-songwriter influences, pairing expressive guitar work with melodic hooks and smooth, soulful vocals.
Flournoy grew up listening to guitar players including Stevie Ray Vaughan, B.B. King, Albert King, Jimi Hendrix, and Eric Clapton, along with the songwriting and crossover sound of John Mayer. Those influences come through in music that can move from blues-driven guitar passages into contemporary pop and rock without losing its roots.
His original song “So Beautiful” reached No. 24 on the Mediabase Top 40 Pop chart, and Flournoy has performed at SXSW in Austin in both 2025 and 2026. With the Ben Flournoy Trio, the full-band setting puts the guitar, songs, and interplay between the musicians front and center.
